BERRY SMOOTHIE & TABLE DECORATIONS

My quest to rid myself of some old fabric and scraps has me looking for easy and either free or inexpensive patterns.  My local quilt store Blossom Quilting in Oakdale, California has a huge wall of Villa Rosa Design patterns.  They are just postcard size and only $2.00.

Two afternoons and I have a completed quilt top for my Warm Wrappings Charity Group. The size is 52" by 64" and is fat quarter and scrap friendly.

Time to head out to the shop and see whatever Villa Rosa has in store for the next project.

I have the first two rows sewn together of my Picnic Under the Stars quilt and rows 3, 4, and 5 ready to finish off as well.  So a bit of progress on this quilt completed.
Rigbee one of my daughter's cats believes he is a perfect addition to her fall table decoration.  Unfortunately he also does a bit of redecorating on it as well.  He is not above kicking a few pieces and parts out unto the floor to make a bit more room for his afternoon naps.

  1. Yes! I love the Villa Rosa Design patterns! My daughter and I are noticing a quilting trend lately of people using simpler patterns. I wonder if it’s burnout from all the Christmas sewing we do?
Your cheerful spring time quilt is so pretty! I’m also trying to sew through my stash. I wonder if anyone has ever accomplished this?
LOL! When I saw “Berry Smoothie” in the descriptor at Sunday Stash, I I thought you were posting a recipe! 😊
Such a beautiful Picnic Under the Stars quilt!
What a cute little cat photo!
    Happy sewing!

  2. You say berry smoothie; I say very soothing :-) The stars are spectacular and I can see the Fall Table decorations, falling off the table, thanks to the feline antics.

  5. Lots of pretty spring florals in your version of Berry Smoothie. I really like the picnic under the stars, the black and grey makes for a very dramatic setting. Happy stitching this week.

  8. I got started with those designs when my local quilt shop included one each month in my batik collection. I really like the stars and log cabins, too. I love both kinds of blocks.

  14. Donnalee I had no idea there was a quilt store in Oakdale. I visit my sister in Modesto every couple of months. I'm adding that to my list of things to do. I love all your quilts. They are so pretty. I especially love the star quilt. any kitty decor always gets my approval although my three tend to carry off any decorative items to places unknown. Good luck this week!
