A CHRISTMAS GIFT

I have a neighbor that over the last couple of years has shown up with a gift.  EEEEKKKKK, I was not prepared.  That is not happening this year.
I decided to use my Wild Honey runner pattern with some Christmas prints.
And I spiral quilting the blocks with a dark green 128 Aurifil thread.
And a finish, which lead me to make a simpler one to give to a friend coming out from Kansas for a visit this coming week.
And for those of you that enjoy my daughter's chickens, ducks, and peacocks here is Orbie her rooster to say good morning.
There is nothing as nice on a summer morning than sitting on the front porch with your coffee and a friend.  My daughter has the perfect companion to sit with her and enjoy the beginning of the day.

  7. Hi Donnalee! I just LOVE that closeup shot of the first table runner. Look at how nice that center fabric pulls out that color in the small flowers. I just adore that! And the dark green too - all around this is just so pleasing. You're all set for that unexpected, surprise gift this year! I'll bet your friend will be tickled pink with her runner. Enjoy your visit with your friend - I agree, there's nothing better! Thanks for linking up today. I definitely am one of the rooster lovers!! ~smile~ Roseanne

  9. Haha, I never thought of that. To make a few small gift and have them wrapped. Of course I live in a rural area and strange, we don't all communicate but wave in passing. The last time I took a neighbor a gift it was a baby quilt for her first grandchild. Her husband who was a shirt tail relation to my husband had recently passed away. In conversation she informed me that they moved to the country to get away from neighbors because they had enough friends. She left me walking away shaking my head. That was the last time I have spoken to her. Thank you for linking up to Put your foot down, it's a lovely runner that I would be proud to display.
