I have had a really great week, my position as treasurer for my quilt guild is within a week of my turning it over to the next person. I have been doing this job two years on and often although I should have had two year off, I ended my with just one year off, this has been for over 25 years. I am permanently retiring.
I managed to get a charity quilt done. This pattern I used is Fields of Color. I have used it several times because it works well with fabrics that while I have some yardage generally not a full yard. The pattern does give measurements for the various borders, but you can adjust them to what yardage you have. Guy quilts are difficult when it comes to fabric, the charity group are always on the hunt for quilts for them. I used what I happened to have in my browns. It does look like one is green, but actually it is a brown and green mix. Only one of my fabrics actually was a full yard, but I was able to get it completed at 54 by 60.This is the pattern, it is a keeper for me.
I finished my string quilt. I must say while it used nearly every little scrap of fabric I had left over from Not Your Mama's Garden fabric plus a couple of other stray scraps it was not easy to lay it out. Lots of repeats and so half way through I just decided not to worry about it. In the end I think someone will love it.
