I have spent this past week just working on finishing up quilts for the year end give away of Warm Wrappings my guild's charity group giveaway in October.
I did decide to keep this batik quilt I made last month. It was part of my plan to de-stash some of my batik fabric hoarding, which although I made 2 other quilt tops that went to my charity group was completely unsuccessful as the bin is just a full as it always was. However, my husband liked this one and I decided to have it quilted and keep it. Well we are not keeping it after all. It is being given away today to our oldest granddaughter for her 33rd birthday instead. My quilter did a lovely job on the quilting and I think my choice of a backing was perfect for it.
These are the last two of my baby/child quilt tops completed.
And these are two of my adult quilt tops finished. I do have another two more to work on and finish. Off to the charity group with these once those are finished off time to start on a fall appliqué project I have had sitting in a drawer since May of 2024.

I still love that batik quilt. You are right the quilting looks terrific and the backing is perfect! I really like your kid's quilt. Especially like the little animals in the first one. Do you have to quilt them yourself or does the guild have people to do that for you? I need to make some easy and fast tops for baby quilts. May be some of my new fabric would work for that. Have a productive week.
ReplyDeleteI’ve been trying to use up my batiks for years. The bin is a bit lighter after making four quilts…but there is still lots of fabric in there! Love the colours in the quilt you are giving to your granddaughter. So pretty. Gail at the cozy quilter
ReplyDeleteAt least you are keeping the pretty batik one in the family! I also like the orange and yellow kid quilt-2.5" strips?
ReplyDeleteAwesome quilts. I can understand why you would want to keep that beautiful batik quilt, but I'm sure the recipient is going to love it.
ReplyDeleteoh my...so many pretties..
ReplyDeleteToo bad you're not keeping this beautiful batik quilt, but it will be just as loved by your granddaughter and it's a beautiful gift. The quilting looks pretty too, and I love the backing! Thank you for sharing all your lovely finished quilt tops and linking up.
ReplyDeleteWow! You've been so busy! I swear those fabric scraps multiply in the tub overnight, no matter how many you use the tub is always full!

ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ♥
Your grand daughter will love that quilt! So pretty. Yes scraps multiply. They also change their sizes and unite somewhere just out of site when they are searched for. I am still missing a stack of green half hexies that I really wanted for a scrap quilt! They just vanished!
ReplyDeleteToo bad you're not keeping your lovely batik quilt, but I'm sure your granddaughter will appreciate it. Wow, four charity tops is quite and accomplishment! Kudos to you. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
