I finally had time after after returning from our holiday in New Zealand to sew a bit.
My Southern Charm Quilt has been sadly behind with a finish of my Dresden plate blocks.
The last Dresden done. I made it 4.5 inches on its blades. I am glad I increased it from the 3.5. Instead of a circle in the center I tried a sort of flower shape. Plus placed three small little dollies on it.
So this finished off the large Dresden block. Now on to the next block set.
A start of Block #10. I had to really wrap my head around these little guys. But, I think I have a good start of the seven I'll need for this block.
And at last my last New Zealand purchased of fun fabric. I just could not leave without buying some fabric that was truly New Zealand. It was just too much fun.
Your Dresden block looks so great, and I love the doilies in the center! Your flying geese strips are looking so perfect, wow! Love the fabrics you picked up on your vacation too... Those are really beautiful!ReplyDelete
Beautiful work on your Dresden block. Fun center for your Dresden. My first quilt was a Dresdend was a big job for a beginner like me.ReplyDelete
Clever center for your Dresden block. I love your NZ fabrics - wonderful souvenirs.ReplyDelete
love your new fabrics!ReplyDelete
Oh so pretty! I told my son about your New Zealand purchases, and he said, nope, not happening. Oh well, I tried.ReplyDelete
Your fabric purchases will certainly remind you of your trip down to New Zealand. And did you know, the first fabric with the red flowers is pohutukawa. Also known as the New Zealand Christmas Tree as it flowers over Christmas, which of course is in the middle of our Summer season.ReplyDelete
Lovely and some fun fabrics from NZ my eldest son and family went over two years ago and brought back some of the same prints for me, my DGD choose them and she choose well. Cheers GlendaReplyDelete
Definitely a good haul from New Zealand. :) Do you already have something in mind to use these in?ReplyDelete
