LOW VOLUME STARS

My friend Brooke at Silly Mama Quilts occasionally asks me to assist with some quilt top construction.  She sent this one along with another a couple weeks ago.  The pattern was in American Patchwork & Quilting magazine April 2017's issue.  I must admit the pattern construction for the stars is somewhat odd.  However, when in doubt follow the instructions.  It worked, and joining the stars at their 45 degree angle actually worked perfectly.  

Brooke had some very specific fabrics, so once I got to the small border I ended up having to piece them, but I really like the border results.  The final larger border was also pieced with a different low volume fabric on each side.  The end result I think was a cute little quilt top.
