I spent the better part of this last week quilting my Butterfly quilt. Having managed to quilt myself the Wonky Block and a baby quilt over the last couple weeks, I am feeling really accomplished at this.
This one is bigger than the last two, but it is going really well. I think the real key at least for me is moving that machine out to the dining table. Lots of room to work has made it so much easier to manage.I finished the binding on my recent appliqué project. Just in time for some rainy spring weather.
Yes, a mug rug for Zoey. Actually an 8 by 11 inch water bowl place mat. I could not resist using this doggy fabric. Was she impressed, no not really.
And here she is, all 8 pounds of her. Just back from her spa day at the groomers. Hair cut and manicure, still not impressed. Life is really bothersome some days when you are a Yorkshire Terrier.
Cute Zoey! Her placemat is lovely, I'm sure she's going to enjoy it ;) You are very well settled for the quilting session, and the binding for the flower quilt is perfect.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing, and linking up. Hugs to you, and Zoey ;)
Beautiful finishes!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to be quilting your own quilts! I’m dipping my toe into quilting my own projects by beginning with placemats and table toppers/runners. You have inspired me to at least try. 😊
ReplyDeleteYour Flowers and Butterflies wall hanging is lovely! Your Zoey is precious!
Zoey is adorable. I like her water bowl mat. Your wall hanging and butterfly quilt are very pretty.
ReplyDeleteYour butterfly quilt turned out beautifully. Good job on the quilting!
ReplyDeleteLots of butterflies in your life at the moment. The wall hanging turned out beautifully. It's so hard to impress family sometimes.
ReplyDeleteSo cute dog
ReplyDeleteYour Spring applique is beautiful, a lovely finish indeed. Of course Zoey needed a pretty mat to put under her water bowl. I have made a bigger version of this idea, with cat fabrics, to put under Gemma's feeding tray. Then again to place under her litter box. It makes us quilters happy even if the pets are unimpressed.
ReplyDeleteHaving problems logging in today. Probably my computer. This is Peggy in California. I just wanted to stop by to tell you I love your applique project. It is gorgeous! That butterfly quilt is looking pretty good too. Having the kitchen table to support your quilt probably helps a whole bunch. Large quilts are so heavy. Good luck this week and Happy Mother’s Day.
ReplyDeleteI love that wall hanging. It turned out great!

ReplyDeleteGreat idea of a mug rug for Zoey. :) So Cute! Thanks for joining my Sew & Tell party
ReplyDeleteOh my, you are so talented to be able to quilt your pieces so proficiently, Donna. They all look wonderful. I don't have room in the sewing room to really quilt and should give in and move back to the dining room table when at that stage too.
ReplyDeleteHi DonnaLee, congratulations on quilting your projects! Your appliqué quilt is lovey. It does help a lot when you have the enough space around you to quilt. It sounds like Miss Zoey needs her quiet time :-) Looking forward to seeing your butterfly quilt finished. Thanks for linking up to Free Motion Mavericks.
