FINISHING UP ANOTHER ONE

Some time last year I received my Quilts & Crafts Simply Moderne magazine.  This particular magazine has become a real favorite of mine.  I only subscribe to this one and buy Modern Patchwork off the stands.  So it is laid out on the guest bed, ready to sew rows together then put the borders on it.
Another view of it.  It is hard to get it all into a good photo when spread out on the bed.
Its a work in progress so I am linking up with

FLEET AND FLOURISH TRIANGLES

I am not into quilting my own quilts.  However, it seems I see all sorts of people that do their own on their sewing machines and I figure surely I should be able to do this.  Well this past week I figured I was going to try it.  I do quilt my own runners, and usually just pin them, but this quilt is 42 by 48.  I decided to spray baste it instead and just use an few pins once it was all basted together.
It laid out nice and smooth, and while it took some time I really carefully worked at it and the results looked really good.  I might just try bigger ones next time.
I quilted it in straight lines with Isacord thread.  It quilted with out a hitch or a wrinkle.  I've gotten it bound, and I'm off to my quilting group today, and will finish off the hand work.  This will end up on the wall in dining room, hopefully this afternoon.
Pretty excited about this accomplishment so I am linking up with

THE MODERN SIDE OF THE TABLE

I started our 20 years ago as pretty much a traditional quilter.  Lots of 1800 reproductions and 1930 prints as well.  Then the modern quilt movement came along and grabbed me right up.  This is one of my very favorite table runners.  Plus I used linen fabrics, which I really like especially for runners.

I love this runner almost as much if not more than the one above.  It is frequently seen on the dining room table.

My VBF Brooke made this runner for me.  A wonderful gift!
Lots going on in my studio these last few weeks, but I also love looking back at some of my finished favorites.
So I am linking up to show them off with

LITTLE SCRAP SQUARES

I have had such a hard time tossing away or giving away the last of my Fleet and Flourish by Maureen Cracknell.  I usually do not keep  little bits an pieces of fabrics.  However, this one just seems to be a real favorite for me.

Plus this runner is such a cool way to use up those little pieces.  I have enough for another runner too.  So one is done and another begun.
So I'm linking up with

LITTLE ANTIQUE BLOCKS

I mentioned these blocks in this quilt to my VBF Brooke.  She purchased them for me several years ago on a trip to the east coast visiting her husband's family.  I had to do something with them so I made this sweet little bassinet quilt.  The bassinet no longer houses any babies.  My youngest grandson will be 8 in August.  I keep the bassinet with this little quilt tucked in it, in my sewing studio now. Where it often houses unfinished quilting projects instead of babies.
Brooke said to send her a picture of the quilt.  She had forgotten about these little blocks.  So I am linking up this morning with
