FOLIOS, PAPER PIECING, & PEACOCK FEATHERS

I am in a slump!  Nothing I should be working on is exciting.  I managed this little Tilda Mimi Folio one afternoon.  But that didn't seem to really make much of a dent in what I should work on or get me very excited.
So I pulled out this little pattern and thought that it would make a good way to carry a tablet in my purse.  I am forever writing notes on napkins as I never have paper or pen.
Tilda even had a matching fabric covered button.  So Cute!
And a 5" by 7" tablet or in this case my Quilt Plan tablet fits perfectly on the inside.
I recently purchased this book.  The patterns are all paper pieced.  I am thinking that that might actually make me think with more excitement about getting and and doing something.
This idea seemed sort of fun.  However, my printer can not increase the pattern in the book to 125%.  So I guess it is mask up and head to the office supply store for some help.
One of my daughter's peacocks has decided to shed his tail feathers.  They usually do that in the fall.  Looks like she has decided to make good use out of his feathers.

  1. Have fun with your paper piecing. I'm pretty much over it for a few months. I'm just trying to finish stuff in the UFO pile. I move the finished tops to the "to be quilted" closet. Hopefully my UFOs numbers are going down. The little flower pots will make a very cute quilt. Hope to see it soon.

  4. Sometimes we need to change our focus to give us a boost. Sure works for me. Trying something I've not done before is exhilarating.

  5. I feel you as far as being in a slump. Time just isn't on my side to get the sewing time in that I want.

  7. If you have a printer that allows you to print custom and has a poster setting, you can print from home. On my Brother printer, I choose custom and then the percentage I want, then I choose poster and I check that I want cutting marks (so you can line up where to cut the pages and tape them together). Saves a trip to have them printed and and money doing it myself.

  8. I'm sorry to hear you are in a slump, it's just awful to feel that way. Try uploading the quilt blocks to your computer and open them in Paint. Paint is pretty good at resizing for printing. Worth a shot before you head to the office supply. Thank you for linking up to Put your foot down, I really like your notebook cover.

  12. Sewing slumps are not fun...but I think it happens to everyone from time to time. I usually do some knitting, crochet, stamping cards or reading books until it passes. Cute earrings and love the tablet holder for your purse.

  14. That looks like a very FUN book! Love the little pots. Could you just scan the page you want, save it to your computer and then enlarge by 125% and finally print that? That has worked for me in the past anyhow. It is a bit of work but would save you the trip. Good luck!
