BIRDS OF A FEATHER
I have been working on this project for some time. It takes a bit of concentration so it is a slow sew project. I just realized this past week that things are moving right along though. I have half of the sections done.
I think the leaves and flowers in this project are what attracted me to it to begin with. Plus I do like appliqué. I will say that I did not in the beginning realize how much. I do not have to deal with much piecing at least.
However, when I got to this section I realized its the birds. Aren't they pretty.
The color pallet is another one of my favorites too. Lots of scraps.
So much fun and so many little birds.
This one section is still a work in progress. The stems are hand appliquéd, but the birds, flowers, and leaves are all done with a blanket stitch, matching the thread colors as best as possible.
I should be able to get this last section done over the next week or so, then on to section number 7. A work in progress for sure. I'll keep you posted.

ReplyDeleteDitto on loving those birds -- they are so graceful looking. I, too, would like to know if you fuse your pieces or turn under. I'm assuming you are doing it all by hand? Makes me want to get out an old appliqué project and evaluate what needs to be done.
