Home Sweet Home, traveling is fun but coming home is always a nice treat too. We left for Alaska on a cruise the 27th of June.
The transportation was nice. Sailed right under the Golden Gate in San Fransisco.
Saw a bit of wild life in Juneau.
And didn't see any of these, at least not on this trip. This guy is better seen like this.
In Skagway they have the neatest quilt shop. Odd as the winter population of Skagway is 800, but summer travelers sure knew where to find this place. They had the most extensive Batiks selection I have ever seen. So of course, one has to do a little shopping.
So nice to be home and back to doing a bit of quilt studio time. Its a finish for our trip and now a start on finishing my October challenge project.
Wow great photos! And a lovely range of purple batiks, good luck finishing your challenge! Thanks for linking up to 'sew stitch snap SHARE'
ReplyDeleteDid you go on Disney Cruise Line? We did a Disney repositioning cruise back in May. We also got some nice shots going under the Golden Gate Bridge then. We did a Princess cruise to Alaska several years ago and I loved the quilt shop in Skagway. Lots of pretty fabrics. Love all of your pretty batiks. Have a great weekend! --Andrea
ReplyDeleteI would love to cruise to Alaska. Did you sail from San Francisco up? I saw a cruise last year for a cruise to SF. I'd love to do that as well, as most of my family and friends are down there. I'm sure there wouldn't be time to get off the ship and go visiting though.
ReplyDeleteHubby and I are back from a trip to Alaska, too! Loved it there! We did not take a cruise, however. I would definitely like to do that sometime.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you had a fabulous time! Lovely photos. Have fun with your October challenge project :)

ReplyDeleteHi DonnaleeQ,
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures you shared from your cruise. I know exactly the quilt shop you are referring to in Skagway! It is nice to sail away but always nice to return home. Those batiks will help you remember all the fun you had. ~smile~ Roseanne
