Here is my original full size runner. It is 25" wide by 42" long.
Here is my small, half size runner that measures 12" wide by 24" long. OPPPS, that did not work out as I expected. At first I sort of pondered the idea of tossing it into the dog bed scrap box in my studio then I began to think better of it. It really isn't awful, I sort of like it. It seemed worth binding it and using it on our everyday dining table. I still would be interested in trying a smaller one in the future Maybe talk to the gal that I took the class from that commented that it could be made smaller and find out where I went astray. I guess some things just do not work out as planned.
Somethings do not work out as we planned, but that's not always a bad thing. Just smaller in this case. Still really viable, with cute fabrics (!!). I love those fabrics . . . especially the white with the pine tree branches/needles. ~smile~ RoseanneReplyDelete
this is not awful--just different than you expected ;)) this happens to me a lot!! I like that black with holly print...hugs, JulieroseReplyDelete
I think it looks fine. Is it the size or the distinct bisecting line that throws you off? I like it as it has a yin-yang thing going. Thanks for sharing today!ReplyDelete
I can see how you would be disappointed that it didn't turn out as expect, but I do like it! I think using it as a smaller runner on your every day dining table is a great idea! I wonder if she cut the pieces a little smaller as well as used fewer? Hopefully you will get an answer as to why it didn't work out quite right!ReplyDelete
It's still a pretty runner, I am glad you didn't toss it out! I have never made one of these Spirals but I love looking at them. Thanks for leaving me a comment on my blog the other day. You were a no reply, but I am glad I could find your blog.ReplyDelete
Both are fun designs! I think it would be worth exploring how to get your original design down-sized. But that said, I like the half & half look to your smaller runner!ReplyDelete
It does have a yin/yang thing going. :)ReplyDelete
Happy little accidents sometimes are prettier than the original ideas! I like it!ReplyDelete
