This past week I set aside my Confetti and Spinning Spools projects to get more done on my Rose quilt.
At last I have all the flowers on and one of the final borders. Lots of leaves to appliqué yet. I do plan to quilt this myself.I happened into JoAnn's last week. Our oldest daughter Monique sent me a $50 gift certificate so thought to take a look to see what was available. Their batiks were on sale at 25% off, so I took advantage of the opportunity to stock up on some blues.
Additionally I pulled some pinks and green along with a couple new pink additions from our local quilt shop. I have an artsy piece in mind.
I saw these ideas in an Art Quilting magazine, so has me thinking somewhere along this line. Wish I was more creative, but I always need a picture idea or a pattern.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteYour Rose Quilt is awesome...and who doesn't like shopping for
fabric, you got a really nice group of colors. i really like
that big flower...I can see a quilt coming out of this.
Have a great day!
The cat doesn't look too comfortable to me. But I guess she'd take care of the matter if she was bothered. Too funny.
ReplyDeleteThe Rose quilt is awesome! And I think your coneflower mini is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove the flowers. I'd love one of these on my bed.
ReplyDeleteLove the pup and kitty shot. Adorable.

The quilt is gorgeous. There is nothing like a piece of art to grace your day. I love what you did with the batik too. Have a great rest of the week.
ReplyDeleteYour rose quilt is coming along nicely!
ReplyDeleteI have to apologize. I have been having issues commenting. For some reason, if I use my tablet, some of the comments don't "stick". I only figured that out this week. \
ReplyDeleteI love how the quilt is turning out. I love your cone flower idea. When you are done, you will have made it your own. The shot of Pip and Lisa is terrific! I KNOW that would not happen with any of the cats and Cinnamon (the dog) here!
Love your rose quilt! Great that you've gotten back to it. Not sure about the cat, but from all the cats I've owned, if the cat didn't like it it would definitely let that dog know! Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss.
ReplyDeleteWow, your quilts never cease to make me smile when I see them! So pretty!!

ReplyDeleteYour rose quilt is gorgeous, and I love the pieced background, wonder why I never think of stitching a pieced background now and again. It certainly adds a lot of interest. Wonderful batiks from your shopping spree. And just loved seeing those two old friends cuddled up together.
ReplyDeleteOh that rose - it is so beautiful!! and those batiks - those are just going to be perfect for your next project!!
ReplyDeleteYour rose quilt is really coming along! I love the pops of green in the background and the applique over the top of the piecing. So pretty! Looks like you're having fun trying lots of flower designs right now.
