PINEAPPLES

Not sure what gets into me, but I saw a pattern on line and thought I can use up scraps.
Oh no I don't think so, this looks like too much work.
Now this was more like it.
I got two done and selected fabric for the rest to do 20 pineapples in all.  The block size is 12 by 18 inches.
Now row one is done and row two set to go.  They are addictive.
I left off Sunday afternoon with just about half the top done. Looks like summer fun to me.

  1. Hi Donnalee! These pineapple blocks are so darn cute. They do look nice and summery, and the pineapple itself is a symbol of friendship and welcome. This will be a gorgeous scrappy quilt when you're finished. ~smile~ Roseanne

  2. Your little pineapples are adorable! Pineapples are supposed to symbolize hospitality, aren't they? I think I read that somewhere.

  3. I like the way you think! Pieced pineapples look great, but I bet you stitched all the single fabric pineapples in the time it would take to stitch one with all the little squares.

  4. Lol, that is so stinking cute. Pineapples are my fave fruit so I could see me doing something like this. Thank you for linking up with me today.

  5. It's a very cute quilt. I've thought about making donation quilts with this kind of pattern as well. Lot's of fun.

  7. Yep, pineapples are addictive! If you need to use smaller yellow scraps, check out the pineapple quilt I made a few years ago here: http://cathyscrazybydesign.blogspot.com/2017/08/finally-i-finished-yellow-project.html

  9. While it's going to be a cute quilt regardless, I felt a tiny bit disappointment that you didn't continue with your scraps. I adore the scrappy version (and scraps in general!)

  10. I love the pineapple blocks! Especially how the fabric helps bring the pineapple out of the shape! And I agree that has got to be a lot quicker to get done than the other way! LOL!
