CORDOVA TABLE RUNNER

I saw a table runner in a magazine ad, and ended up buying the book to complete it.  I've had this fabric just, three different pieces, for some time.  It looked like it would make a good choice for the runner.
I cut 12 6-inch squares, and have 4 with their bias strips basted on above.  Once all are basted down on the 12 blocks I will use poly thread and a hemming stitch to finish their edges.
This is the book I ended up with.  It has a lot of great appliqué ideas and fun patterns inside.
This is a picture of the finished pattern.  I am anxious to finish mine up.  The appliqués are not difficult, but do take a bit of time.  This is a Wednesday and my project is in process so I am linking up with

  1. I love the look of your table runner (in progress), but I confess, I'd likely choose to slice and insert the bias strips and avoid the appliqué.

  2. I love this idea and the fabrics you used. Having just made bias strips for some basket blocks I'm not so intimidated any longer. This might be a nice little project for my family room and some older florals I have.

  3. I always find it amazing that beautiful fabrics are bought usually with no project in mind, but it just has to be in our stash! LOL. There it sits, folded precisely, being admired and tried for various projects...until WHAM there it is that perfect project! I really like the pattern that you chose and thinks it will be beautiful! Also, it does take time with applique....but oh is it ever worth every stitch! Always fun and full of life....Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day!
